Ilfman + Sonitus Mortis is a Berlin-based duo conjuring shadow-drenched soundscapes from Frank Ilfman’s dark and melancholic compositions and Sonitus Mortis’ bleak, experimental noise. Harnessing experimental AI mechanics to mutate digital sound into decaying analog textures, they weave together rusted reel-to-reel tape loops, industrial sounds and 1970s synth drones. The result is a haunting aural descent—evoking isolation, dread, and the fractured beauty of a world in collapse.

Obsidian Lament is an evocative and introspective single that weaves together fragments of a timeworn piano—its keys whispering with corrosion—into a cinematic landscape of reels and tape hiss.
