Bitter Seeds explores the global fault lines of modern agriculture — where biotechnology promises a new Green Revolution, but at a cost still unfolding. From remote Indian villages grappling with genetically modified seeds to the powerful institutions that promote them, the film examines a deeply human story shaped by science, economics, and survival.
Composer Frank Ilfman brings this narrative to life with a poignant, cross-cultural score that blends traditional Hindi instrumentation — including sitar, regional vocals, and percussive textures.
His music underscores the film’s emotional weight, honoring both the cultural richness of rural India and the global resonance of its story.
Ilfman’s score does more than accompany the film — it listens, laments, and breathes alongside its subjects, capturing the tension between progress and loss, resilience and despair.
